Abstarct: The Daman- Jala copper deposit is located in the Semnan province, 80 km east of Miami city and north of Abbasabad village. The study area is situated in the northern part of Central Iran microcontinent and the Sabzevar-Abbasabad-Troud subzone. This area along the Semnan-Sabzevar-Kashmar mextallogenic belt is one of the areas that is important for copper mineralization. The outcrops consist of the intermediate- mafic volcanic lava with andesitic basalt to basalt composition and volcanic- sedimentary rocks including agglomerate, tuff, shale, sandstone, conglomerate, and limestone with Eocene age. The volcanic rocks have the nature of calc-alkaline magmas, and related to the continental arc magmatism of the subduction zones. Dominant alteration is propylitic alteration that has affected a large part of volcanic and pyroclastic rocks in the region, and carbonate, zeolite, sericite alterations are observed locally in the Daman-Jala prospected area. The host rock of mineralization is mainly composed of basalt, and the ore body have stratabound form. Mineralization consist of sulfide and oxide phases, which the sulfide minerals are predominant. Ore minerals include primary sulfide minerals e.g., primary chalcocite, chalcopyrite, bornite, pyrite and native copper and secondary minerals include secondary chalcocite, malachite, covellite, goethite, and hematite. Chalcocite is dominant copper sulfide mineral in this area. The ore textures and structures are vein- veinlet, open-space filling, disseminated and replacement. Copper has the highest geochemical association with S and Ag. baxsed on fluid inclusion studies, the homogenization temperature of liquid-vapor rich two phases fluids in calcite host mineral vary from 96° to 317 °C and the salinity range from 4 to 16 wt.% NaCl equivalent, which is in the range of homogenization temperature (100 to 392 °C) and salinity (1.4 to 34 wt.% NaCl equivalent) of the manto-type copper deposits. According to the geological, mineralogical characteristics, host rock composition, structure, texture and mineral association, geochemical correlation, and fluid inclusion data, The Daman-Jala copper mineralization is introduced a basalt-hosted and manto-type copper deposit.
