Abstarct: The Zarigan lead and zinc mine is located near the city of Chadormalou, Yazd province, adjacent to the village of Zarigan. The purpose of this research is to first produce a zinc solution with a certain concentration using the leaching- precipitation- solvent extraction method from the low-grade soil and tailing of the Zarigan lead and zinc mine, and then optimize the solvent extraction method and produce zinc ingots using this method. Solvent extraction has been chosen to utilize zinc sources with low grade and high impurity content due to its advantages in removing impurities from the target mextal and concentrating it for economically justified zinc production. In this study, the separation of zinc in the presence of other impurities was investigated by solvent extraction using di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) in kerosene solvent. The research was conducted in two parts: laboratory and industrial. In the laboratory, the parameters affecting the efficiency of the solvent extraction percentage of zinc, including the pH of the aqueous phase solution and the concentration of the extractant, were investigated and the optimal conditions were selected. In the industrial part of the research, the effect of the volume ratio of the organic phase to the aqueous phase and increasing the extraction percentage was investigated by repetition. Also, a washing tank was installed and examined to remove impurities and a hydrochloric acid (HCl) tank was installed to prevent iron from entering the electrowinning stage. baxsed on the results obtained under optimal conditions, pH=2, (v/v) 10% of D2EHPA in three stages of repeating the solvent extraction process at ambient temperature, the percentage of zinc ion extraction reached more than 95%. The pH of the leaching tank was selected to be 2.5 and the optimal HCl concentration for iron (III) ion removal was 6 M. According to the results of the atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS) of the zinc ingot, an average purity of 99/9753% was observed, and according to the results of X-ray diffraction (XRD), no impurities were observed in the zinc ingot.
