Abstarct: This thesis is a descxriptive and review-baxsed analysis of electronic transport through a single-molecule junction with a focus on resonant conduction. The primary conceptual frxamework is baxsed on the Single-Resonant Level (SRL) model, where energy-dependent transmission probability and current–voltage response are interpreted using the Breit–Wigner formula and Lorentzian formulation of resonance peaks. Within this frxamework, the role of molecular orbital alignment with the Fermi level of the electrodes, as well as the coupling width between the molecule and the electrodes, is examined as key variables controlling the shape of the transmission probability peaks and the current intensity. In addition to the minimal model, the limitations of the single-resonant level approximation near resonance are considered, and the effects of multi-pathways, effective multi-resonance, and quantum interference as mechanisms for altering the transmission probability, emergence of dips and transmission zeros, as well as the reduction of conductivity in oligomer systems, are reviewed. Furthermore, an empirical and analytical boundary is established between coherent interference-baxsed behavior and behavior arising from slow-charging channels in nonlinear responses, such as Negative Differential Resistance (NDR) and hysteresis. The final outcome is a reporting roadmap and decision rule for selecting the valid resonant range and extracting the effective SRL variables, enabling consistent comparisons between references and systematic analysis of the effects of alignment, coupling, and interference in single-molecule resonant transport.
