Abstarct: This study examines the factors influencing household healthcare expenses in Semnan Province. For this purpose, data from the household budget survey, which includes various variables such as monthly expenses, annual income, number of employed individuals, average weekly working hours, family size, number of educated individuals, number of students, number of individuals over 60 years old, infants, and average age of the household, was utilized. The research methodology involved using the Generalized Linear Model (GLM) to analyze the impact of these factors on household healthcare expenses. The analysis results indicate that monthly expenses and annual income have a positive and significant impact on household healthcare expenses, while the average age of the household and family size have a negative impact. Additionally, the type of residence has a negative and relatively significant impact on healthcare expenses. baxsed on the research findings, practical recommendations for policymakers and researchers have been provided. These recommendations include enhancing healthcare awareness, strengthening the health insurance system, addressing the healthcare needs of different age groups, improving healthcare infrastructure in various regions, conducting continuous and precise analyses of household healthcare expenses, supporting low-income families, and focusing on prevention and public health. This study can assist policymakers and researchers in designing and implementing more effective healthcare policies and improving the management of household healthcare expenses in Semnan Province and similar regions.
