Abstarct: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of job embeddedness on organizational identity and turnover intention among physical education teachers in Kirkuk Province. This research was applied in terms of purpose and descxriptive–survey in nature. In terms of the relationship among variables, it was correlational, and from a temporal perspective, it was cross-sectional. The statistical population consisted of all physical education teachers in Kirkuk Province, from whom 172 participants were selected using a cluster random sampling method. Data were collected using three standard questionnaires: the Job Embeddedness Questionnaire developed by Karpit (2013) with 7 items, the Organizational Identity Questionnaire by Mael and Ashforth (1992) with 6 items, and the Turnover Intention Questionnaire by Meyer (1993) with 3 items. The validity of the instruments was confirmed through convergent and discriminant validity, and reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha and composite reliability coefficients. Data analysis was conducted using structural equation modeling with the partial least squares (PLS-SEM) approach. The statistical analyses were performed using SPSS software (version 23) and SmartPLS software (version 3.2.8). The results indicated that job embeddedness has a significant and positive effect on the organizational identity of physical education teachers in Kirkuk Province. In addition, job embeddedness has a significant and negative effect on their turnover intention. Overall, the findings suggest that enhancing job embeddedness can play a crucial role in strengthening organizational identity and reducing turnover intention among physical education teachers, thereby contributing to the retention of human resources in the educational system.
